Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 12, 2007 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolate and caramel, as well as light notes of coffee. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and chocolate, like ice cream topping, combined with a light note of licorice. Nice, but the body is a bit thin. oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Aug 19, 2007 Bottled. Very dark brown colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is slightly roasted malts, burnt wet wood, some grass and a bit of caramel. Flavour is mainly wet and burnt wood, leather and some roasted malts. fonefan (5558), Ulfborg, Denmark Aug 20, 2007 Bottle @ Chris o shindig 2007. Dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, strong coffee, coal. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. (Coal / burnt bitter). Body is medium, texture is oily, syrupy, carbonation is soft to flat. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Jun 23, 2007 500ml bottle from Harvey’s Brewery shop. Black colour with tan head. Nice roasted aroma, in fact very roasted malt aroma. Really quite rich. Some charcoal, liquorice on aroma. Very intense, smoothish in mouth, then slightly sour damson charcoal finish. Lots of overly roasted malt. Too burnt. Bit too obvious for me and a little loss of balance in the middle of the beer. Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 30, 2007 Considering the style, Scores ranging from 1 to 5, 5 being the most intense

Comments: A certain fruitiness from the yeast keeps the interest level up for this rather chewy and thick stout with a pungent mineral character.
