Christmas Ale’s popularity made it difficult to restrict its availability to just the Festive Season. Fortunately, the high alcohol level enables us to brew enough to last most of the year so enthusiasts can be kept happy all year round.

It is heavily hopped, dark and strong, like Christmas Pudding in a glass!

Contains: Barley and Oats.

Fin smag af jul, uden at det går over i brunkage. Den har en del humle for en engelsk øl.

7/5/2007 3:04:02 PM Bottle at home. Sweet and spicy barley wine. Pumpkiny, with slight chocolate and caramel flavour. Hoppy with a sugary finish. Probably very good during the holiday season.

Bottle at home on nicest day of spring which I’ll count as a Christmas present so this is appropriate. Pours fine amber thin head. Nose is some molasses and dark fruit. Tastes of molasses, malt, yeasty, plum, sour cherry, green raisins, caramel, hint of cough syrup. Sweet but not cloying boozy but not harsh.

nihtila (2093) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 27, 2015
Bottle thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours clear ruby. Aroma is that stuffy Harveys malt/yeast, some berries and caramel, slightly sweet. Taste is sweet, caramel but also that unpleasant stuffy malts.

Bottle from Harvey’s online shop. Appearance - deep amber red with a decent head. Nose - orange peel, cake and toffee. Taste - toffee and orange. Then caramel or honey. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long tangy finish. Overall - that’s like a barley wine.

allmyvinyl (7165) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 27, 2015
Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and nihtila. Pours clear amber gold, thin white head. Aromas of light spice, toffee, sugar. Taste is sweet, orange peel. Sweet finish. Better than most of theirs.

Aroma is malts, medicinal and a vinous hint. The flavor is malts, mildly vinous and a medicinal/very slight heat in the finish.
