Cask at the Dorset Arms, Lewes, 12th June 2008. I was very lucky to catch this. Harveys brewed this on their new micor plant to celebrate Cliffe Independence Day. This is when the Cliffe area of Lewes (where the brewery is located, and once a separate village) declares independence from the town of Lewes, seals off the main road and has a big street party. Clear dark orange with a line of head, this has a hoppy nose and is suprisingly hoppy and flavoursome given the strength. The palate is somewhat watery and this is obviously a session beer. It’s a flavoursome one worth trying though!
