Ethereal (927), London, Greater London, England Apr 1, 2008 Bottle at the Royal Oak, Borough, 26th March 2008. I guess this is worth Harveys producing just to watch American beer lovers frothing at the mouth when they see the ABV ;-) Clear, flat amber appearance and it goes downhill from there. Like so many of the Harveys bottles I’ve had in recent months, this was ruined with diacetyl. Buttery sweetness on the taste, zero bitterness. DIacteyl aroma and the characteristic slick mouthfeel. Bit of honey in there too I guess. God, I hope they get their bottling plant sorted. Rune (1839), Tromsø, Norway Mar 24, 2008 275ml bottle. Clear amber coloured body under a white cap. Slightly hoppy aroma and vague malty hops in flavour. Thin bodied (15.03.2008). Doppelganger (1216), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Feb 26, 2008 Bottle, from Silktork. Thanks mate! Warm gold, scant white head. Earthy, toffee aroma, light caramel sweetness, a hint of rustic hops. Very light body, but with a little carbonation lift. What’s here is pleasant, but the volume of everything just barely breaks the perception threshold. Quack-Duck (1978), Bodensee, Germany Jul 31, 2007 bottle. Copper colour, medium-sized head. Hoppy, slightly malty, pleasantly bitter. Low carbonation. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Jan 3, 2007 Bottle (from Middle Farm, Nr Lewes, BB Mar 07). Dusty hops with light fruityness. Dry and light bodied and fairly drinkable but not exceptionally interesting.
