2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bobinlondon (1179) - Harrow, - DEC 31, 2008
Handpulled cask at the Garland, Redhill during May. Clear amber with thin white head. Dry and hoppy for a southern mild. Has Harveys house characturistics. I prefere it to their dark mild. Very sessionable.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (4397) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2010
(Cask at Royal Oak, Borough, London, 19 May 2010) Reddish amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with bread, dark fruit and the usual, slightly sulphury Harveys character. Fruity, malty taste with notes of dried fruit, sulphur, slightly biscuity malt and hints of yeast. Thin body, balanced sweetness, moderate bitterness. Easy drinking beer with lots of brewery character.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2010
Cask (handpump) at the Royal Oak, Borough, May 2007. Copper colour with no head. Light biscuity malt aroma. More soft, light malt in the flavour. Touch of tangy hop too. Not packed with flavour. Has a little trademark Harveys woodiness on the palate and a subtle sharp tang on the finish. I know that people can get excited about seeing a rare light mild but, to be honest, it didn’t do a lot for me. Very easy drinking of course, which I guess is what it’s all about.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2009
A Mes rate: cask in the Brewery Sampling Room. Very pale coloured for a mild. Lots of sulphur. Nicely bitter. Lightly sweet on the malt with some hints of caramel. A little more bitterness in the finish. Agree with Steve that it probably wasn’t ready yet.

Brewery sampling room. Pale. Bitter. Hoppy. Sweet. Sulpher. Tasty bitter, but a bit green.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 HogTownHarry (4872) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - MAY 22, 2009
Cask. At Royal Oak, Borough. Deep clear amber with a beige lacy head. Weird aroma for a mild - light roast malt, fairly sweet, pungently redolent of cat pee bitterness. The taste is grainy and vaguely herbal, some mild roast. Thick, still mouthfeel, thinly acidic - I really didn’t know what to make of this; I suspect it’s a very traditional mild, but I’m more used to the "near-porter" sort of mild, so ... just okay.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 kempicus (355) - Bakewell, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2009
Popular beer with Harvey’s fans....there was almost a riot on Friday when it wasn’t ready to go on! Average beer for me really...hoppier finish than the dark mild, perhaps a touch of green apple...
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUL 7, 2008
Cask handpull at Royal Oak, London. Reddy amber colour. Farty Harvey’s yeast aroma, then this lovely light mild flavour. Oh this is scintillating. So drinkable it’s untrue. Foret Brew Dog Edge or Thornbridge Hall Sapphire, this is how to make a low ABV beer. Brilliant. Lovely toffee malt and then some hop on finish. Brilliant.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2008
Cask at Harveys pub in Southwark The Royal Oak 21-06-08 Copper in colour no head. Pretty good beer and hoilding up very well considering my tastebuds are freash from an assault by a Mikkeller Beer Geek at The Rake. Light and surprisingly hoppy, some caramel comes through but this is just a lovely easy going mild with a nice gentle bitterness and slightly drying finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 27, 2008
Cask at the Royal Oak, Borough, May 2008. Clear amber with a hoppy nose. Dry and hoppier than Sussex Best. Has a good weight and a nice finish. A good session light mild.
