2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20

Cask @ GBBF 2014. Malty intense nose. The beer stars very viscous. Great thick. Roasted/burned malt, dried dark fruit, plums, molasses. Included in the picture is a nice intense bitterness that fits in great! Very intense. The aftertaste is very long and viscous. Dark sugar, roasted/burned malt, very dry for this ABV. Plums, nice bitterness. A great round and extreme intense brew!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at GBBF 2014. Very near black. Quickly dissipating tan head. Fantastic aroma of molasses, vintage port and naked alcohol. The sweetness is quickly challenged by a full hop bitterness. Full palette but with a slightly acrid aftertaste. Verdict: not perfect but very, very good. Dangerously drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at GBBF. Black, small ring of head. Aroma is sticky sweet molasses, smoke. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is very sweet ash, liquorice, tangy ashy finish. Potent stuff. A touch sweet for me, but excellent nonetheless.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This blew the cap and half the beer ended up on the table and floor. Pours a huge overflowing head that settles to nothing in 3 minutes. Nose is huge too... resin, raisins, and soya sauce. Very robust, chalky, molasses, sherry. Very delicious. Thanks Alex.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Gravity at the Battersea Beer Festival 2013. Poured a thick black, with a thin tan head. Aroma was not particularly great; stewed fruit, beef stock and liquorice. Mouth feel was pretty full. Flavours seemed rather hidden; dark fruit, chewy malt and cake. Finish was sweetened coffee, cooked apples and a slight salty note. Sadly, I don’t think was the beer at its best.
