500ml bottle from Middle Farm, drunk 12th Oct 2008. The new, larger bottle and new bottling line seems to have fixed things for Harveys bottled beers - they don’t all taste of diacetyl like they did in 2006/2007. Clear amber with a decent malt & hop aroma. Full bodied and malty. See my notes on the draught version.

Bottle badged as "Bill’s Beer". Smells like weak, supermarket own-brand, lager. Looks like weak lager. Tastes like a weak, chlorinated swimming pool in which a class of 4- year-olds have recently urinated.

50cl bottle from Bottle Shop Goods Shed Canterbury. This is probably my favourite of the seasonals from Harveys so looking forward to it even though it will be pasteurised and risks diacetyl. Clear copper amber colour with lasting thin off white head. As I guessed its no where near as good as on cask. In fact the puke on the aroma is pretty bad. Ok mouthfeel. Some prickle of carbonation on finish. Pure rubbish man. No Harveys house yeast is shown. Vague fruit salad flavour. Pure apple crumble puke poor beer. Wish I could pour it away but I am on a train.

Bottle. I was very keen to try this, but was not banking on it not being bottle conditioned. It is pasteurised in bottle form and it certainly tastes like it. Dead mouthfeel, very flat. There is some hints as to what this could be in cask form. touches of lightly sweet, malts, and citric hops, but they didn’t have a chance to make themselves known due to the pastuerisation process. A shame. can’t wait to try the cask version though!
