Leathery citrus aroma, leaf mould. Rough leafy hop flavor, apples, rustic malt backbone, noisy hay finish. Some interesting flavors, but at least as served here, very disjointed. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

Another bottle from the Royal Toke that we sunk on the benches outside the George Inn. Mid amber with a decent white head. Hoppy, grassy aroma that is much more IPA than ESB. Malty and unrefined flavour with some sweet cereal notes underneath. Not a great beer. DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England

Although an ESB seemed very much like a golden ale. Light, well hopped with a bitter finish. Refrshing. Definitely a good summer beer in a old IPA style. My favourite Harveys. harrisoni (6776), Ashford, Kent, England
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 22, 2007 500ml bottle from Brewery Shop. Chestnut, clear with lasting beige head. This has a really toffee butter aroma. Not much hop really at all. Diacetyl? Just not much of anything but butter, some hop on end. Bit disappointing. Only hints of the big hop I was expecting. Must try again and preferably on cask. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
