Garland, Redhill. Prominent malt and hops, fully integrated and balanced. Splendid fresh flavours. A scintillating and fascinating beer, with that wonderful oaky Harveys note. Awesome. If only all beers could be this good. It is the freshness, the balance, the harmony, and the individual Harveys character that mark this out.

(Cask, The Wharf, Aalborg) - Light amber colour. Spicy, hoppy, typical Harveys nose. Crisp, clean, spicy hoppy taste, with a slight malty dry sweetness at the end,- Extremely delicate. Another great one from Harveys !

Hazy amber color. Very grassy hop aroma. Quite malty, a bit of hoppy fruitness, strongly hopped but still mellow. Excellent.

500ml bottle. 6.5% ABV. Re-rate at the Royal Oak, Borough, 24th Feb 2009. Pillowy nose and very lively on the tongue. Clear amber look. Orange and vanilla on the nose, similar flavour with restrained hoppiness and a bitter finish. Very nice.

Royal Oak, Borough 13/08/07 Golden yellow. Satisfyingly firm head. Although an ESB seemed very much like a golden ale. Light, well hopped with a bitter finish. Refrshing. Definitely a good summer beer in a old IPA style. My favourite Harveys.

(Bottle, Royal Oak, Borough, London, 8 Aug 2008) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity nose with orange, caramel and citrussy hops. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, orange and a decent dash of citrussy hops in the finish. Rather sweet, but tasty and nice. 7/4/7/4/13=3.5 (Rerate: Cask at Royal Oak, Borough, London, 19 Nov 2008) Copper colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with dried fruit, peaches and hints of yeast. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange, yeast and earthy, citrussy hops in the finish. Slightly above medium body, fairly sweet. Nice beer, firmly in the Harveys house style.

The beer has soft English hops in the nose with apples showing a big presence. I was surprised the body was so aggressively hopped and big hoppy finish. Of course if I went online and read the description before ordering it would have made sense. Nevertheless I really enjoyed this beer.

Cask conditioned at The Market Porter, Borough, London. Amber with white head. This was 5.5% on cask. Big fruity beer with a heady alcohol note. Drying, dusty hop flavour in a slightly confused body, bitter finish. Pretty reasonable overall.
