Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Thanks to Scopes for this one. Bright clear gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is light and crisp and semi dry. Dry pale malts, trace of sweet grain. Mild floralness. A little insipid orangey fruit. Light semi dry finish. Clean and fairly drinkable.

Scopey (7449) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2014
Bottle picked up at Harvey’s. It pours clear gold with a foamy white head. The nose is simple, clean, toasty grain, sweet cereal and faint peach. The taste is toasty, cereal, light lemony citrus, soap, grainy and some underlying sweetness with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Really easy going. Simple and crushable.

Bottle shared at Leightons pre Christmas tasting. Thanks to Paul. Very pale yellow, very clear, loose white head. Aroma is classic harvey’s house nose. Some grassy green leaf hop, touch of sulphur. Flavour is composed of dirty green hop, fresh grass / silage, pale grains, straw. Touch of egg. Palate is clean and grainy, light body, moderate carbonation. Decent beer. Characterful and drinkable.

Leighton (11893) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2014
Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours perfectly clear yellow-gold with a frothy white head. The nose has some doughy bread, apple, hay. Light sweet flavor with grainy white bread, hints of paper, grass, straw, lemon rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some lightly bitter grains and hay, vague citrus. So so.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Fine and classic with hops, medium and balanced bitterness, some citrus in the aroma and cripsy mouthfeel. Not bad.

Bottle from the Middle Farm Cider Center in Lewes - Firle. Pours out in a deep golden-light amber colour with airy low head and medium body. Aroma of hops, straw and flowers. Taste of bitter hops, light barley, straw, mild fruits and light citrus. Refreshing. Not a bad one.

From cask at White Hart, Crawley 22 Jan 14. 4,3%. Deep, deep amber. Low head with some color. The flavor is caramel with spicy notes. The typical Harvey’s flavor shines through. More spice in the finish. Good!

Rating from 2010 as Quids In: Harveys ist die einzige Brauerei Großbritanniens die ich kenne, die ihr Bier vorbildhaft in Mehrwegflaschen abfüllt. Da dies in England unüblich ist trägt die Flasche extra den netten Hinweis "Please return - we will wash and refill this bottle". --> 12,12,13,12,12,13 - 12,55

worldbeertaste (1693) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2012
Clear orange with a thin fizzy white head. Smells of malt, toffee, grain (woody), toasted malt. Medium oily body. Taste of malt, grain, toasted grain, with a light sweet start and hop bitter finish. The finish has sor peachy fruit with some citrus. Though there is some complexity there is a hint of cardboard which makes it a bit chewey. Not bad but forgettable.

50cl bottle picked up in Hastings. Pale gold with a fast dissipating white head; caramel aroma; soft biscuity malt flavour with a touch of citrus and a lightly bitter finish.
