Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, SE1 1/8/08. Pale amber in colour with a moderate, off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, summer fruits and earthy hops. Flavour started with some fruity malt, more yeast and a long, dry finish. Very drinkable.

Cask at the Royal Oak with Mes and reakt, 2nd Sept 2007. Crystal clear amber appearance. Ester aroma - pear drops and bananas. Very, very dry taste that lingers, giving a lip-smacking finish. Excellent pale ale.

Cask at the Royal Oak. Golden colour. Fairly sourish pale malt character. Lightly plasticy and a little bit cidery. Some peach and apricot but not in a good way. Earthy with a fairly sulfurous nose (similar to the Mild). Light astringency. A bit of fruit and some dirty esters. Woody finish. Meh... not for me at all.

[Cask at the Royal Oak, Borough] Fresh hop aroma, pleasantly bitter, even better (in that occasion) than the more famous special bitter. Very good!

(Cask at Royal Oak, Borough, London, 5 Aug 2007) Pale copper colour with brief head. Fruity, nutty nose with earthy hops and slightly meaty, brothy aromas. Fruity, nutty taste with decent earthy bitterness and slightly yeasty notes in the finish. Fairly light body. Nice, unmistakable Harveys character, but a bit short.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Royal Oak. Mid amber with no head. Wheaty hoppy aroma with slight tobacco. Nice dusty malt and very nutty flavour with some slight floral hops and pear drops underneath. Not bad.

Cask@Royal Oak, Borough. Pale golden colour, not much head. Aroma is fruity hops along with some wooden hints. Flavour is wooden, vegetably and slightly fruitish hoppy. Wellbalanced, but quite empty in the palate.

TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 8, 2007
Pint pulled at The Crown Inn in Groomsbridge (Kent), a clear copper with a filmy head. An aroma of flowery malt. Peachy fruit flavours at first, with a bitter finish that brings more malt.
