"Bottled with approximately 1/3rd less Carbon Dioxide than most beers. This results in a fresher more natural tasting beer. Combines Hallertau Hersbrücker with Challenger. Late hopped with Styrian Goldings, which gives a sharpness like the twist of a lemon."

From a 330 ml bottle at Il Maltese. Bright but light golden yellow, perfectly clear, with a tiny, bubbly white head. Pretty subtle aroma, on the nose sweet malts, honey, light nuttiness, slightly herbal with a hint of butter. Definitely sweet upfront, light bitterness and astringency, decently balanced. Extremely watery but easy drinking. Zesty and malty aftertaste. Soft carbonation, light body, slightly creamy texture. Above average.

Das Bier hat eine goldene Farbe und eine fingerbreite weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch ziemlich fruchtig, hopfig, Citrus, blumig. Geschmack fruchtig trocken, dezent gehopf, blumig citrusartige Aromen, ok!

I would session the heck out of this doozy from Scotland, so tasty t’is! Beautiful blonde bedecked with a buxom white bonnet and with lovely aromas of honey, cereal, light grass, pepper, some citrus and earthiness. The relaxed carbonation and slightly chewy body make this lower ABV feel bigger than it is. It’s got a hint of bitterness, grassy and citrus that linger but are subdued by sweet pale malts. A great full-flavoured beer!

Bottle. I’ll paste my 2007 review of the beer on cask: Clear golden and still, except with a 50% head <<not as much head as on cask, obviously>>, which is pretty. This has the aroma of celery which stuck around. The flavor is similarly like a fresh salad ... green and crisp, light and fruity. This would be an AWESOME summertime beer. God, I love beer.. <<Holds true, but certainly better on cask.>> (#5872, 11/23/2014)

Pours a slightly hazy amber, similar to a brown oak leaf. Normal head, lacing and retention. Nice nose of light sweet citrus (pear with lemon notes) over biscuit with a mild caramel note. Light medium body with a hint of slick texture. Normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence on the finish. The taste profile, while nice, is average in intensity, very well balanced and above average in complexity. Where it excels, is in the flavor profile that surrounds the bitterness, especially for a low 4.2% alcohol content. It begins with a flood of hop flavor (citric, rind and Noble) over light biscuit. Mild bitterness follows in the middle from the classic English Bitter profile coupled with a citric rind twist. As the bitterness diminishes, biscuit with caramel notes come forward. The finish has just a hint of dryness that leaves you with a light grapefruit rind bitterness that lingers and leaves the tongue tart with a distinct mineral note.

Bottle from a Glasgow ASDA. Amber with a off white head. Pleasantly bitter and citrusy with marmalade notes. A little biscuit in the background too. Nice easy drinking ale.
