4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into a pint glass. Straw colored and transparent. Almost a finger of head. Great lacing all the way down the glass. Lots of bubbles visible.
A big mix of malt and hops on the nose. Rich malt smell, a background of lemon and grapefruit.
Light tasting, almost watery at the beginning, moves to a clean maltiness, then a pointed bitter and lemon taste at the end.
Soft texture, medium body, low carbonation.
This is an enigma of a beer. The smell made me think I was in for a powerful malt bomb. A really subtle taste, but still flavorful and dynamic. And you can throw them back without worry at AVB 4.2%

Bottle shared with McTapps. Not a bad one containing some citrus aromas and few hops in the back. Easily drinkable, balanced bitterness and carbo. Not a great but a fine brewed and quaffy piwo.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma: Medium malt, biscuit, caramel, syrup. Medium hops, citrus, .
Appearance: Body: Clear gold. Head: Thin, white, frothy.
Flavour: Medium sweet upfront, then a high hop flavour kicks in. This is replaced with a lingering light sweetness with medium hop flavours and light bitterness. Medium bitterness, medium-light sweetness. Balanced towards bitterness. Hop flavour is very fruity, citrus with a bit of spiciness. Dry finish. Too bitter and slightly too dry for a blond.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Refreshing and crisp. Easy drinking and flavorful. Although a great tasting beer, I think it would score better as an American Pale Ale.
330 ml bottle, poured.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 500 ml. Pours clear light amber with minimal head. Heavy citrus note dominates the nose as expected, leaning towards lime rather than lemon from what I can tell. Some malty side notes of caramel and honey are also present, as well as hints of grass and something floral, but a bit one dimensional aroma-wise. Citrus notes are thankfully much less dominant in the taste, with them blending in well with the now more prevalent sweet malty notes initially, and then coming to the forefront again for the quite bitter finish, balancing things out nicely. Couple more fruity notes arise here, perhaps pineapple. Inoffensive on the palate with low carbonation and a thin to medium body that isn’t too watery. Decent stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml bottle into a nonic.
Pours a slightly hazy light copper-ish gold with a very thin white head. Just the smallest bit of lacing with a bit of soapy head retention.
Aroma of toffee and pear with a hefty note of grass and flowers. Almost a bit of a tartness in the aroma.
The flavor is dark bread, caramel, and some toffee and toast. More grass and floral notes along with the same tartness I picked up in the aroma. Fairly high and sharp bitterness for this style. The beer finishes clean, however, with a thin and watery mouthfeel.
Overall, this is a pretty good English Bitter but it also doesn’t have much to make it stand out. I do enjoy the bitterness which I feel is a little more than in other examples of this style.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
More than averagely hoppy golden ale with Challenger, Styrian and Hersbrücker and intended lower carbonation than usual for the style. Stable, sticky, off-white head, colour a warm ’old gold’ with quiet sparkling, cristal clear. Malty aroma of caramel and walnuts, bread, unripe peach, young cheese, freshly cut grass, orange zest, lime peel, thyme, carrots, tonic water. Nicely rounded taste with citrus freshness and indeed mild carbonation, smooth palate, caramelly and bready maltiness, ending in a quite assertive, rooty and peppery hop bitterness, long and dry. Interesting ale, quite refreshing.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Not so bitter, light caramel sweetness. Aroma is a bit hoppy but taste is kind of sweet. Malt dominates. Maybe past its best?
