Cask at Draft House Battersea. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Nose is full of big biscuit and lemon rind, hints of zest. Loads of zest comes through in the taste with light floral hops. Heavy biscuit to balance with a hit of lemon and sweet citric juice. Very balanced. Light sweetness on the finish which is rounded out by the biscuit. Wasn’t expecting much but this is really quite good

Cask at Lebowski’s. Pale gold, thin white head. Light citrus aromas, some cereal. Light bitterness, light sweetness. Thin. Original when it came out, now it seems like most beers you get in British cask pubs are variations on this theme.

On tap (since the choice was between cask and bottle I’m putting the rate here). Faintly hazy golden with off-white head. Aroma of malt, bread and fruity hops. Taste is fairly sweet, fruity, flowers with some basementy notes.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A mid golden coloured beer with a weak white head. A light citrus aroma predominantly of grapefruit and a hint of orange. Dry mouthfeel. The taste is hoppy and full of citrus fruit flavours, grapefruit an orange again, plus a slightly bitter-sweet biscuity malt taste comes through towards the end. Tasted at the 16th. King's Lynn Beer Festival.
