Cask @ The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW), sampled in August 2011.Clear dark garnet in colour with a thick creamy off white head. Dusty drinking chocolate powder in the short aroma. Silky milk texture in the mouthfeel and good mouthfeel. Dark malts give a roast malt and chocolate notes full in the mouth. No fruit notes evident but a sweet black treacle note comes through. Dusty hop resins add to the dryness which continues through to the woody oak finish. A good Scottish mild and well recommended.

Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, strange spicy, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. To wird for me !! [20110618]
