Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 8, 2008 Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy amber beer with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruit and malt, leading to a dry bitter finish.
faroeviking (4589), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark Oct 9, 2008 Cask. Nice amber colour. Very small bubbly head mainly because the glass was filled way up. Mild fruity aroma. Good mouthfeel. Soft sweet nice fruity flavour. MesandSim (4623), Highgate, Greater London, England Sep 9, 2008 A Mes rate: cask at Baker St. McSporks.
A clean amber gold colour with a thin off white head. Ooh and some condition. That’s a novelty for JDW. Straight forward bitter leafy hoppage with loads of grass and nettle notes. Excellent (if slightly perverse) hit of Amyl Nitrate in the aroma. Good biscuit malt base. Tasty bitter finish that is surprisingly dry. Hints of pepper and herbs round it off nicely. Enjoying this one. cgarvieuk (2614), Edinburgh, Scotland Sep 5, 2008 Cask at cloisters ... Copper ... musty malt nose ... malt fruityness ... quite dry ... soem fruit bobinlondon (286), Harrow, Greater London, England Sep 2, 2008 Handpulled cask at the Village JDW Rayners Lane, Middx. Excellent nic from a newly tapped cask. Copper with a good beige long lived head. Hoppy aroma (rare for jock beer!) buiscity malt flavor with pleasently subtle burnt caramel notes. Some hop resins with crisp bitter finnish. I was thirsty after a cycle ride, but 3 of these slipped down very quickly! Excellent ale!
