It’s a little-known fact that Harvie once did a short stint as a lumberjack in British Columbia where he discovered the recipe for this stunning, malty, hoppy brown ale. He named it in honour of the creatures that kept trying to eat him.

Amber-brown. Bubbly head. Toasty, with a hearty breadcrust character. Bready malts with a subtle, fruity hop balance. Interesting beer, somewhere between a bitter and a brown ale.

Hazy, dark caramel coloured beer with a creamy off-white head. Nutty hop aroma. Flavour is nut and toasted malt. Has a light though ever so slightly watery finish.

Cask at the Edward Wylie (JDW) short review as I didn’t take notes last night when I was drinking it. I liked this beer though. Sweet and bitter notes and very refreshing.

Cask conditioned handpump Rake London 08/07/13. A dark brown coloured beer with an off-white head. Pear drop sweetness. Herbal and medicinal. Old school sweetness. very strange and oddly directioned. Not nasty but totally at a tangent.

Bottle at home courtesy of Ewan, cheers!
Hazy chestnut red-brown with fluffy beige head. Sweet digestive biscuits, crystal malt and raw grain on the nose. Fairly sweet and fullbodied a touch underattenuated perhaps? Digestive biscuit, toffee, maltose, touch of roast barley astringency. Caramel. Quite enjoyable but could use some oomph.
