I can’t say that "dark copper" and "tawny" (see commercial description) immediately sprang to mind when assessing the appearance. More like golden amber I’d say. I was also very taken a back to get a distinct, but fleeting, whiff of baked beans on my first sniff. Or perhaps that was just a brief waft from the kitchen, because as it went as quickly as quickly as it came. A quite intensely fruity beers with lots of apricot and peachy notes. Just enough balancing malt backbone and, yes, biscuity is how I’d describe that. Mellow mouthfeel. A laid back, easy drinking beer, with the emphasis on fruit. Rather nice.

Mellow caramel favor, with a wonderful fruity hop, a bit citrusy. Well balanced. There are not many words, but it’s a wonderful beer. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Jan 2, 2009 cask in Berts edinburgh ... copper ... sweet pine resin nose ... very sweet toffee fruity malts ... very smooth... big citrus hop background Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Dec 30, 2008 Cask at the market porter with alex and mes. Golden colored with a thin white head. Moderate pleasant bitterness. Flavors of citric fruits, caramel and malt. Lasting aftertaste. Very very enjoyable. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Dec 14, 2008 A Mes rate. Cask at the Market Porter. Dark gold with a slight white rim. Good bitterness that balances out really well with some gorgeous lightly sweet caramel malt. Glorious bittersweet finish carries on the theme. Just right on the palate. Harviestoun keep bringing out good beer and this is no exception.
