Cask handpull at Knights Templar, JDW, Holborn. Pale gold, thin lasting white head. Slightly thin and ascetic, golden bitter. I was hoping this would be best of the lot and it isn’t. Yes, it has wheat, yes it has some harsh citrus hops. Good citrus beer, along the Harviestoun lines but lacks intensity and is a sub Oakham White Dwarf.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Gatehouse. Golden blonde with lots of lace. Citric and floral aroma. Plenty of hoppy character in the mouth with a lovely creamy texture. Slight lick of malt for some balance. Lovely dusty bitter finish. A pleasant surprise.

Handpulled at Babington (JDW) Derby. Rolls in the glass from milk to custard to lemon yellow. Settles with an ice-cream collar. Zips citric on your lips, superb controlled citirc aroma, itches all the way through to a dry finish. Top blond.

Cask conditioned @ Hants Bowman, Dundridge (28/07/05). Peach, apricot and floral aromas. Slightly harsh hop character despite moderate bitterness.
