tombyars (1374) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 5, 2012
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in May 2006. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Floral hops present in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts gives a slight digestive biscuit flavour in the mouth. Dry hops flowers add an astringent bitterness to the aftertaste. Finish is insipid and slightly malty. Yet another!

A Mes rate: Cask handpull at the Guildford Arms. Oily golden brown with a creamy off white head. Bitter hop aroma with some light malty balance. Nice distinctive hoppy flavour with a blanced malty finish. Very straight forward but decent all the same.

Good colour, not goldy not amber at all, foam somewhat thick. NOt annoying, almost bitter, but too sweet for being so.
