This is a special brew. Super malty with major scotch overtones. Rare beer that should be enjoyed whenever you see it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Geruch dunkelmalzig mit leichten Holznoten, Eiche. Start dunkelmalzig. Mitte malzschokoladig, Röstnoten, wirkt eher moderat im Geschmack. Erst im Abgang starkes Einsetzen von Whiskyaromen, Bitterschokolade, Röstnoten. Bitter auslaufend. Gut.

Beerenberger (1563) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JUL 15, 2013
The aroma reminds me of mince meat pie. Meaty, raisins, with some sweetness. There are also notes of vanilla and alcohol. Pours a translucent brownish black with no head or lacing. The taste is decidedly bitter. Dark roasted malts, wood, whiskey, coffee bittness, chocolate, peat, and vanilla, with hints of pepper in the finish. Rewardingly complex. Full body with medium carbonatin. Oveall, an excellently brewed beer. Want to experience it again.

Cask handpull in the colonies - Churchkey in Washington, DC, just a kilometer from Mr. Obama’s house. Very dark clear brown color, tan edge head. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla covered licorice (American spelling). Taste is smooth, slightly boozy milk chocolate and vanilla. Very tasty, in an adolescent sort of way.

Bottle #25045, Bottled on July 2009, Tasting March 2013. Pours a caramel meringue head that quickly dissapates to thin oily sheet with small ring. Black Brown clear color. Swirling aroma of vanilla, Toffee, light roasted coffee. Old Humidor even. Slick and Oily with Alcohol on the edges not to direct, slightly salty at the start with sweet filler throughout. This beer has a long pleasent finish I hope to experiance again.
