Nov 22, 2009 Bottle, poured an oily black with small off white foam head. Smooth with chocolate notes and a nice light hop presence. A bit of sweetness with some slight dry bitterness. Had this during the Devonshire Halloween tasting. Have one cellared so looking forward to trying a solo flight. Liked it!

Nov 16, 2009 Pours a dark color with a thin head. Taste starts a little watery, but then has hints of chocolate and coffee, finishes slightly bitter. Overall thin... needs more depth. I liked it... I just think it is missing some things. I doubt I will buy another... but glad I tried it once.

Nov 4, 2009 Bottle from De Molen. Dark black body with foamy head. Peat and smoky nose. Oily texture. Sweet and malty taste. Nice bitter finish.

Nov 3, 2009 From the bottle, pours oil plack with a decent white foamy head. Aroma is thin, maybe a little smokey. Taste is also thin, almost watery at first. Flavors of chocolate, bitters, lightly bitter finish. Not a very "viscous" beer as the label suggests. I’d call this a drinkable alternative to a stout. I’d drink another one.

Nov 2, 2009 Bottled. Dark color, short head. Aroma of some roasted malt, some chocolat. Quite typical old ale aroma, but nicely balanced. Mild roasted taste, malty, quite bitter, bit dry. Decent stuff.

Oct 28, 2009 Bottled. Tnx Bullit. Aroma has chocolate. dark brown coloured beer with a thin, beige head. The taste is a bit sweet, with chocolate and dark fruits. More bitterness towards the finish. Light bodied background makes it perfect for a session ale. Very nice.

Oct 26, 2009 11.2oz. Pours clear and black in the glass, topped with a small, taupe head of creamy texture that threatens to coat the glass. Mouth is medium-full with light, creamy carbonation and a dry finish. Aroma of chocolate, molasses, campfire, hints of oatmeal, caramel and toffee malts. Flavor is dark, rich, big molasses, big chocolate, other notes include campfire smoke, lots of burnt malts, oats, heavily masked dark fruits, pine hops, toffee notes. An interesting brew.

Oct 20, 2009 33 cl bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Black color, disappering brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and smoke. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, dark fruit and chocolate. Very nice.
