Nov 18, 2008 pours out a black color with a small tan head. aroma was roasted malt, caramel, and a slight bitterness. flavor was very similar, though i detected what tasted like smoked malt and was kind of unpleasant.

Oct 23, 2008 Pours very dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma is full and rich with sweet dark grape jam, ripe plums, dark toastiness, a bit of earthiness and chocolate. Smells very yummy. The taste begins with tasty dark fruity esters and mild earthiness. The dark roasted malts, toasted malts and some tasty dark chocolate all come together taking things to the finish. Even, smooth, somewhat rich and blended flavors makes this a tasty brew.

Oct 22, 2008 11.2oz btl. Pours an opaque black with a nice head that looks like chocolate mousse. Nice roasty nose. Taste is strong roast with chocolate tones and molasses that coat the mouth and finishes strong. Dark and delicious.

Oct 21, 2008 Dark poor with thin copper head that disipated quickly. Subtle roasted malt and chocolate notes. Dry finish... I liked it and had two of them.
