COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Roasted barley; Oats; Washington Galena, Worcester Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Pitch black appearance with a small tan head. The aroma is malt and chocolate, outstanding aroma. Excellent flavor of dark malt. A perfect beer.

I’m a bit disappointed in this brew. Poured into a snifter, it is pretty opaque black and smells of roasted malt. The taste, to me, is a bit burnt... certainly not sweet. There’s hints of chocolate and coffee. It seems quite dry as well. I guess I would prefer a little sweetness in a porter/black ale/old ale. Maybe my bottle was a little old.

Svart med fingerhøyt lys brunt skum. Lukter kaffe, kakaopulver, nøtter og noe trevirke. Middels fylde. Mørk sjokolade, nøtter og kakao. Lett bitter og noe salt. Lillestrøm ølfestival-Klimt

Bottle at De Koffer, Groningen. Aroma is roasty, coffee, chocolate, dark malt, hint of liquorice. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a surprisingly good roasty bitter finish. Body is medium. Fairly light on the palate, but aroma and flavour are pretty potent.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey to celebrate Eric’s last night behind the bar. Black with beige head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, light cream. Tastes of chocolate, roast, toffee. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Black pour with a slight head. Served warm. Malty medium thickness with a little tobacco on the finish. Nice. Not sweet on the finish, rather balanced with hop bitterness.

On draft at When Pigs Fly, Kittery, ME. This is a surprisingly "traditional" interpretation of a porter -- there’s a good amount of roasted aroma and a bit of chocolate taste, but it’s all balanced and there’s even a bit of space for some caramel sweetness to come out at the end. Full mouthfeel (which you have to have with a name like this!) and no discernible hop flavor. Glad to have tried it.
