COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Roasted barley; Oats; Washington Galena, Worcester Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Describing appearance is bullocks, but i’ll try it anyway: it is black and it has a head and it is not Black Beauty, the beautiful horse. The foam is grote bellen en kleine bellen en wandklevend. Aroma is quad esters (figs, prunes), metallic, brown sugar, oat. Taste is cichorei, metallic, some weak hints of coffee. The mouthfeel is not smooth, rather edgy. I’m not a fan. Thanks berntholer for the gift.

Roasting notes in its aroma. Enjoyable mouthfeel. Quite tasty for a porter. Definitely a good pick.

Pours dark, nearly black. Gives you a light bit of surprise at first, with a thick and biting first taste that carries taste of chocolate and coffee. Very roasty, very full-bodied. A very nice beer.

Eccellente.

Bottle. Black and oily, with a brown-ish sticky head. Aroma of espresso and cacao. Tastes oily and creamy, with cacao, milky coffee, some caramel and a dry bitter finish. Smooth silky mouthfeel, long aftertaste. Only 6% abv, but body is quite thick. Very good.

Poured into a teku showing black with coffee brown rims and a light finger of coffee foam. The nose shows a lot of fine and very lightly roasted ground coffee. Also hefty notes of roast malt, toffee, and caramel. The palate shows a very good blend of toffee and roast malts with a light latte bitterness at the end. Medium bodied and evenly carbonated. Finish returns with the lightly roasted coffee bitterness. Big coffee flavors with a good porter roastiness balanced with the hints of toffee yet light enough not to be a stout. Excellent porter.
