Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Pours black with a thick tan head. Has a mild sweet roasted aroma. Strong chocolate flavor up front with an acrid roasted finish. Not Bad

Strange sweet nose of scotch, sweet maple, and some sweetish smoke and oil. Malty, sweet, slick, silky, oily, with a strange vegetal olive oil and silky roast flavor. Kind of strange for the most part, but sweet enough to be drinkable.

330mL bottle, courtesy of wickedpete. Thanks, Pete! Pours a dark, murky brown color; thin light tan head with patchy lacing. Loads of nougat, peanuty goodness, and roasted coffee in the aroma; soft and rich. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: viscous, oily coffee and nougat and caramel; a bit rough and astringent from the coffee notes; bitter baker’s chocolate and a touch of citrus. Smells better than it tastes. Lengthy finish: dry, bitter baker’s chocolate and citrus.

Courtesy of wickedpete. Dark brown small light tan head. The nose is toffee, dark fruits, light molasses and light chocolate. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with cola, molasses, milk chocolate and raisins. Medium body is a bit thin with light carbonation.

330 ml bottle. Pours black and thick. Head is brown and quite small but durable. Looks just delicious! Nice roasted and caramel malts with coffee in aroma. I also found some grass-like sweetness, quite the same as in some Novopcká-beers. Medium body with low carbonatioin make palate very soft. Finish is very enjoyable bitter with chocolate, coffee and malty sweetness. Great beer with rich aromas and brilliant finish. Perfect for slow sipping or as a dessert. Maybe with ice cream?

pours a dark black with very little head. The low carbonation makes for a very smooth drink. The flavour is really nice. The dark chocolate taste is very prominant initially then I was left with a hoppiness on the finishl. It was a nice finish as well in that the hoppiness wasn’t overly bitter and complimented the chocolate nicely. A great beer if you are in the mood for something with similar flavours to a stout but want something that doesn’t have to be savoured as much ie easy drinking. A really good beer especially the flavour.

. This is a truly remarkable and unusual brew! The name and description entices the palate. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours thick, black and oily. There is absolutely no head at all. The aroma is oaky and lightly malty. Smells like a snifter of scotch. The texture is thick. The brew is rather bitter with a like oaky finish. Very reminiscent of a strong port. Definitely a slow sipping beer - and not one that I would choose to drink often - but I am definitely glad to have tried it.
