Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Pours a thick black color with a small, but creamy tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and burnt grains. Very nice. Greay flavors too, bitter chocolate and coffee, with a touch of caramel sweetness. Smooth creamy palate. Bitter finish. Yummy.

Pours a black colour with short lasting head. Slightly bitter and roasty, not much sweetness and a bit thin in body...it’s a unique beer as I can’t think of anything similar I’ve tried at this point.

Poured in a snifter; black with a small tan head. Minimal aroma of coffee, roasted malt and liquorice. Medium bodied with generous carbonation. Salty, burnt, bitter and dry, with notes of salty liquorice, a long, burnt and dry aftertaste lingers. A complex combination of different dark flavours with the bitterness and ... viscosity (heh-heh).

Pours black with lightly tanned lacing head. Nose is malty with smooth liquorice, coffee and cocoa. Flavor intense salty liquorice, some coffee and burned smoky notes. Finishes dry with lingering burned bitterness. Medium to full bodied, a bit sticky palate. Burned and vicious indeed.

Pours nearly black with a minimal head, like dark cola. Aroma of chocolate and toffee. taste of chocolate and coffee, sliding into a bitter coffee finish. Medium to watery mouthfeel.

Pours black with ruby highlight when held up to light. Aromas of chcolate, roasted barley and hops. Flavor starts sweet and finishes bitter. Tatses like chocolate, roasted malt and slight hop bitterness. Full body, creamy and slick mouthfeel. A blend of porter, stout and scotch ale. Worth a try.

Bottle pours a black that has just a little light passing through. Tan head that lasts a while leads to lacing in the glass as you drink it. Little aroma and has a smooth taste with a slight chocolate finish. Not too bad.
