COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Roasted barley; Oats; Washington Galena, Worcester Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Bottle aged about 15 months. Pours pitch black with small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, cacao, chocolate and bit liquorice. In taste there is little coffee bitterness, chocolate and roasted malts. Very pleasant, creamy and full bodied mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Finish is chocolaty coffee. Very enjoyable, easy drinking and rich flavoured porter. Small ageing has done some very good things to this.

Pours black with the perfect level of foamy head. The aroma is cinder toffee, treacle and earthy. The taste is a bit spicy, earthy and a bit sticky with a metallic finish.

Pas de mousse, couleur noire, arôme malt grillé, goût réglisse, café amer, sec sur le palais, pas fan de ce type de bière. 330 ml Comptoir Irlandais Paris

Easy on the palate & pretty tasty! Deep dark pour w/ a tan head & good lacing. Quite roasty w/ some nice chocolate notes. It’s drinkable while carrying the big flavor punch! Very good!

Rating at my place, bottle thanks to Mrk. Black. Licorice, coffee, roasted grains. Light sweet with burnt bitter finish. Nice medium body. Backlog from 2015/01/09.

Deep black body, two fingers of white head. Aroma of roasted malt, dried fruits, toffee. Flavours of roasted malt, toffee, dried fruits, tiny alcohol notes. Finish is long and bitter. Leave a nice bitter roasted malt aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very nice full bodied flavoursome ale. It pours a dark caramel and has a lot of complex malts in its flavour. I would happily drink a few pints of this. For a dry tasty dark beer you could do much worse.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
