Tranquillity (1165), Espoo, Finland Aug 29, 2007 Incredible, thick, beige/light-brown head. Chocolatey aroma, some menthe. Taste dense of chocolate and malt, without being too sweet. Dunk (35), SoCal, USA Aug 29, 2007 Bottled. Dark/opaque pour with little head. Nose is charcoal and burnt caramel/bad 2 year old fruitcake with some alcohol coming through. Flavor is dark/roast malt with excessively sour finish. OK but limited in dimension. Overall quite unimpressive. crazyvin (1245), New York, USA Aug 21, 2007 Bottle at the BrewHouse, in Norwalk CT. black as oil, off white head. Aroma was sweet with a nice roasted malt aroma, almost like a oatmeal stout. Some notes of dried fruits too. Flavor was little bit of a disappointment after the welcoming aroma. It was tasty but not as rich as i hoped. Still had nice dried fruit notes, cocoa and a slight hop finish. Found this to be better then the special reserve of this beer. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Aug 19, 2007 Bottled. Deep black beer with a lasting medium sized light brown head. Rich aroma of chocolate, dark malts and dried fruits. Sweet-ish with a roast note and a good bitterness for balance. Well balanced and wonderful beer vadersnightcap (80), Scotland Aug 18, 2007 Rocking stout from Harviestoun.
Reallt great wuality beer from a really good quality brewery - one of my favs.
pretty much as perfect and well balabced as a 6% stout can be.
love it! :) emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 15, 2007 Pours a dark black with a thin to medium brown head. The aroma was roasty, a tad sweet, and something I can’t identify. The flavor showed some slight roasted coffee, thin not too much in the flavor. Decent overall. scrizzz (1250), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 15, 2007 deep roasted aroma and flavor. so jam packed with roasted malt you’d want to chew but weighs light and feels thin. still a great beer
