Aroma is leathery, slightly scotchy, a little sweet, with a hint of dark fruit. Flavor is pretty complex, very roasted all the way around. Flavor is tarry, leathery, smoky, with a little bit of raisin/prune. I like the flavor a lot. Palate is again oily, with very little carbonation. Overall, very good. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours black with thick lingering light brown head. Subtle aroma of dark roasted malts, maybe some dark cherry in there. First taste is a large hit of both light and dark chocolates. A bitterness slowly gains through the finish, but not too biting, enough to linger in the palate for a couple minutes. Full bodied. The malt profile is fairly one dimensional but good. Experimente!
