Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

A black beer with a fine oil brown head. The aroma is sweet and roasted. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted bread. A lovely beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Almost pitch black with only a vague, reddish hue. Very small - almost absent - beige head. Close to being flat. Aroma of roasted malt, complex almost vinous with a raisiny touch. Lovely, dark lightly burned malty notes. Not too full-bodied with roasted malt, alcohol and licorice. Discreet, dry bitterness. Quite lovely. 020106

Bottled. Dark black, no head. Aroma of dark chocolate. Roasty and very malty with notes of licorice that lingers on into the grassy finish. Another good beer from this brewery.

Århus2008. 33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black wth a redish glare and a lacing light tan head. Mild chocolate, malty and liqourice aroma. Flavour is roasted malt and liqourice with a light acidic touch. Ends with a liqourice and roasted flavour. Nice one.

Bottle. Pours like a quart of motor oil and has a thick, mocha colored head with sticky lacing. Aroma has hints of licorice, raisins, and molasses, very earthy. Flavor has the same qualities with a little bit of chocolate in the back end. Has some smoked, roasty notes in there as well.

Bottle, 6%. Nicely bready, slightly roasted aroma. Black colour, small stable light brown head. The flavour is very nice, roasted and nutty, slightly sweet. Low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel.

Bottled. Black couloured with minor brown head. Chocolate and fruits with hints of vanilla in the aroma. Very smooth taste, mainly of malt and smoke, but also hints of coffee in the aftertaste. (8 4 8 4 16)

Casked. Ruby red/black colour with small brown head. Aroma of roasted malts and strange sweetness. The sweetness also dominates the flavour and makes the otherwise so good beer rather unbalanced. I prefer the bottled version of this by far. (6 3 5 2 10)
