Sweet dark choc malt on the nose and on the tongue, but with a cheesy note that gives it body and a fruity hint right at the swallow. Very soft on the tongue, slightly oily. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

It must be for export only, found in York, England for £1.49. Looks like a stout or porter totally black, tastes like a sweet stout, very smooth, very drinkable; too bad it was only 330ml. hayduke (1695), Eureka, California, USA

Medium light brown head and good lacing. Nose of roasted malts with chocolate, coffee, and burnt wood chips. Very rich and creamy mouthfeel. Finish is like bittersweet chocolate. Very nice brew. jfm (1695), Holbęk, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 15, 2009 11.2 oz from the Boise Co-op. Pours a dark brown color with a massive light-beige head and loads of sticky lacing. The aroma is smooth chocolates, roasted malts, maybe some smoke. The flavor is nice; sweet chocolates and coffee, some light fruit and a pervasive earthy-smoke flavor. Sort of thin, but nice. Really, this is a porter not an Old Ale.
