Malty roasty toasty goodness and while not as viscous, it does look a damn lot like engine oil in the glass. I like this one!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a lovely black/brown with a nice persistent tan head. Lacing. The aroma eventually opens up to reveal: caramel, toast, dough, earthy, alcohol, some banana, chocolate, some vanilla, wow. Taste is perfect balance; sweet gives way to sour/bitter with umami. Palate is really the only weak point and I’m picking nits. A little on the oily side and some stickiness. None of this is bad. Just, a bit distracting from the better elements. Overall an awesome brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep dark brown colour and beige coloured head on top. Head leaves lots of lacing behind. Aroma has roasted malts, coffee and some grassy notes. Taste has coffee, wooden notes, lots of roasted malts. Slightly dry and bitter after taste. Full body with medium carbonation. Well just a decent ’Old ale’.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A lovely aroma of coffee, liquorice, chocolate and some citrus arises from the glass. It’s got roasted coffee and citrus in the mouth, but there’s a slightly burnt aftertaste which ruins the finish.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark color. Roasted malts smoke and hints of bacon in the smell. The taste is watery stout-like. Some sweetness, thin and fine carbonation. Again smoke in the taste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black color with small beige head. Has a hint of dirty brewery in the aroma. Then roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Taste is sweet and different, something fruity, maybe vegetables as well. Fresh. Gone rather quickly, with a hint of lingering bitterness. Super-fine creamy carbonation. A very weird, but interesting brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep black color (exactly like engine oil) topped with a fine dark beige cream head. Roasted aroma, complemented by notes oc chocolate and coffee as well, pretty easy to pick up. Taste starts sweet, slightly, with some chocolate, followed by quite roasty body and fair bitterness in the finish. Ome coffee notes in the aftertaste. Creamy and very filling. But tasty.
