Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Almost completely black. Low carbonation. Chocolate at first, but in the aftertaste something sweet and vinuous -- brandylike I think. Very interesting, smooth and drinkable.

What a fun drink! It pours out kinda like old motor oil, deep, thick brown with a slender light brown head. The predominant aroma is a sweet maltiness tempered by mild hopping topped with a smooth whiskey smell. The drink is rich, large with malts, and has a satisfying whiskey finish that helps satisy two drink cravings at the same time. It tastes like it should have a stronger abv than it does, which makes the drink all the more satisfying. You can enjoy a few of these without keeling over.

Poured dark brown with a brown head which left a lacing on the glass. Malty rich aroma. Taste was malty with a bitter smoky finish, as one would expect with a scottish ale. Good but not something I could have more than one of at a time.

Great roasty, chocolate aromas with some coffee undertones. Body is dark brown with a very minimal head. Flavor is about like the aroma with a bit more fruity tones than expected. It all blends with a nice roasted aftertaste that finishes well.

Drank it with my father. Very similar to a porter. Pours pitch black with a nice tan head. Sweet Aroma. Medium bodied, roasted flavors, chocolate, dark chocolate. Nice.

12oz. bottle. Sweet on the nose like a dopplebock till that subsides and roasted malts arrive. Black body looks like oil with chcolate milk colored head. Flavor is sweet to start with but as this warms a mild chcolate presence is there with a real good roasted malts flavor. Some sweeteener lingers a bit on palate along with some dry coco good brew.

Dark brown-mahogany hue, with a frothy tan-colored head, but falls quickly, with chocolatey note, a faint smoked accent, caramelized malt, roasted grains, coffee, an hint of herbal touch in the aroma follows through on a full-bodied palate with a malty, coffee, hint of smonkyness, roasted malt, dark chocolatey flavors, with a dry coffee beans note, leading towards a good floral hops and some bitterness on the finish.
