COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Roasted barley; Oats; Washington Galena, Worcester Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Black-red colour. Nice thick brown foam. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour is similar. The taste is very strong with the abv in mind.

Pours very dark with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark red wine, dark fruit, light smokiness. Tastes sweet and roasty with a vinous quality. Bitterness is of the roasted variety with hints of floral hop bitterness. Similar to a stout except for the vinous quality. Not nearly as thick as engine oil. In fact I would say that the beer has medium texture. Low carbonation. It’s a good beer.

Keskiverto portteri. Ehkä somessa vähän yliarvostettu. Kyllä tämä sapsussa hyvin menisi kaupaksi. Helppo.

Dark brown, almoust black with a beige head. A lot of lacing. Nose: Roasted malt, molasses, coffee, chocolate and dark fruit. Taste: Same as the nose, malt, roasted notes, coffee, dark chocolate and dried fruit. Almoust no carbonation. Medium to full body. A light bitterness. Great beer!

cho que foi a 9ª breja da noite... Já não lembro mais... Também recomendada, ofertada e saboreada juntamente com o proprietado desse templo da cerveja. Aroma intenso, de café, de capucchinno. Negra intensa, opaca. Creme residual, como esperado. Malte torrefeito, intensa, toffe, sem caramelo. Foda!!! Boa demais!!!

This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and fruit. Medium body with flavors of roasted coffee, malt, dark fruit and a bit of black licorice. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottled. Clear brown/black when pouring; jet black in the glass with a very small, light brown head. Espresso, strong malt, molasses, and treacle of the nose. A treacle and honey start and a drier coffee finish. Lovely smooth mouthfeel and very well balanced. To me this is the perfect example of what a no-gimmicks stout porter should be.

Bottle @ home. Aged 2 years. Beige medium sized creamy head and an almost back liquid. Sweet roasted chocolate aroma with notes of coffee, dark bread, caramel, red fruits , and a light vinous touch of plums. Bold and smooth & oily mouth feel. Roasted but not burnt taste initially of coffee, chocholate and earth. Finish is dry and chocolate bitter with notes of licorice, salt, dark fruits and subtle vanilla. Lingering bitterness.
