3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2009 Had in a growler from Party Source. Pours a deep dark chocolate color with little transparency. The aroma was strong of roasted malts, chocolate and a bit of coffee. The taste was, to quote a friend, "...like an upgraded Guinness." I was a little disappointed considering the guy who filled my growler really recommended it and said it was one of the best stouts. Not a bad beer though and worthy of another try.

Black Velvet, so smooth it lures you into a false sense of security before the 6% alcohol kicks in. Dark fruits mixed with espresso & chocolate, about as well balanced as a beer could possibly be, delicious.

Almoste perfect porter, with hints of sweet wine, sticks nicely to the tongue with spicy and a bittersweet taste, going to a very lasting aftertaste of wood and licorice.

Nothing exceptional, but still nice and drinkable. I’d certainly have this again and would like to try in on cask, but wouldn’t seek it out.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, chocolate, and liquorice – with a slightly bitter finish.

Una bestia! Café, malta, chocolate y amargor combinados en un líquido viscoso que se deja tomar muy fácil. Bravo!

Pitch black with small tan head. Really good coffee and chocolate flavours in perfect balance. rich and creamy. One of the best beers I’ve had. No amount of aging in whiskey barrels is going to improve it for me. Delicious.

bière très noire et épaisse, sur le café, le chocolat noir, un peu de noisettes grillées, très légère amertume en finale. Peu de fruits.
