3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sugested by my trusted beer guide (Joe) at Pacific Wine Merchants. Poured from an 11.2 oz bottle a deep, dark brown (almost black) with a foamy moca colored head. The aroma is definite dark chocolate, roasty malt, and a bit earthy. Taste has a pleasant, light sweetness that’s followed by a medium bitter and a moderately long finish. Full body, and slick with moderate carbonation that quickly softens. Very nice all around. Really enjoyed this.

Flaske. Svart, litt oljeaktig konsistens. Noe skum som forsvinner. Noe karbonert. Smaket kaffe, røstet malt, lakris og sjokolade. En meget fin øl som har ganske tykk, nesten Kremet konsistens samtidig som den er veldig lettdrikkelig

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A- Dark chocolate, iron, roasty.
A- Black color, dark liquid, beige head.
T- Dark chocolate, bittersweet, dry, roasty, malty.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish.
O- Not sure what makes a beer an old ale on here but this is certainly somewhere between a porter or stout for me. Not superbly exciting, but a decent enough brew. Nothing really stood out in it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
dark brown colour, medium sized, dense beige head, which disappears quickly; aroma of chocolate, some herbal liqueur notes, maybe earth; taste is also dominated by dark chocolate with some herbal notes and hints of peat and wood; for me, it is more like a porter than an old ale - not an extraordinary, but a really enjoyable one
