4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask draft at Farmers Cabinet. 9% version. Reserve. Opaque black with a thick tan head. A heavy step above the standard version. Notably higher ABV. Spruce trees. Pine resin. Turpentine. Asphalt. Sweet molasses. Black as pitch, but still a fantastic sipper.

Gravicask (Cambridge WInter Ale Festival 2011)
Stunning brew. Joint beer of the festival for me, shared with the Arctic Ale. This was more subtle that that, but in some ways that punch in the face from the Arctic is a winning trait. Then again, the softness and smoothness of this is a winning trait too. Certainly sweet with its smoothness, but not sugary. Luscious, in fact. Such a rich burnt roast, no ashiness at all. Perfectly balanced. Finish just continues the richly roasted taste. Divine.
