2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On cask at Rustico (Ballston).
The beer is black with a quarter inch of off-white cap that holds steady for several minutes. The aroma brings milk chocolates, roast, malts, biscuits, brown bread. The flavor is sweet and chocolaty, followed by mild roast and sweet breads. A bit lacking actually. Not bad at all, but the flavor kind of drops off. Thin body and a bit too sweet. Eh...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at Great Lost Bear. Dark black like the name of the brew states. Thick lasting head retention. Aroma of charred chocolate malts, licorice, and a trace of coffee.
The body is medium and shows a creamy texture. The flavor is spot on the flavors and real tasty. Overall really easy to drink with the creaminess being a major turn on for me. I’m really going to have to try the bottled version and compare. This was a nice drink.

Thick creamy and black. Bursting with aromas of roasted coffee and bitter chocolate. The flavor is slightly sweet up front, umami and a very satisfying bitter finish.
