6,4% On tap @ Beertemple, Amsterdam. Body is nearly black, head is medium, brownish, creamy, average lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is roasty, flavor is chocolate, mild coffee, roasted malt. Medium sweet, medium to heavy roasty bitter. Finish is average lasting medium to heavy roasty bittersweet. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Delicious easy dessert beer.

On cask in the Ericht Alehouse, Blairgowrie. Poured deep dark brown with no head. Aroma of roast malt and dark fruit. Medium to full body, flavour is medium sweet, lightly bitter. Very nice berry flavour, tastes heavier.

Cask sampled at ACAT 2015. Pours a thick black with a small, lasting tan head and light lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and cocoa notes and a slight oaked note on the back end. Floral hop flavor up front, followed immediately by the maltiness described in the smell. It is well balanced and complex.

Tap. Lovely porter! Huge creamy brown head lasts till end and makes filigrane layered lace. Small roasted aroma. Deep dark black brown. Roasted malts, caramel, herbs. Thick silky, oily palate. Just adoreable.

Backlog rating. Cask at FOB, Rimini. Thanks to Rick for this one! It pours a dark brown, almost black color with a small tan head. Aroma is cocoa powder, biscuit and licorice root. Taste is medium sweet and lightly roasted with a nice dry finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Could use more body

Really good black beer. Had this before as Tesco Porter and was nonplussed, bit on cask it’s richer, sweeter and the tart-cherry tang comes through nicely.

September 20, 2014 - on handpull at Craft Beer Co (Islington). Oily black/red pour with minimal beige head. Aroma and flavour of deep roast, tarry rope, dark tart fruit, some alcohol - slick, vaguely oily body, midl carbonation, longish slightly sour finish. Interesting - kind of bitter too when you think back on it.
