Firkin at Sugar Maple. Wow, this is what its all about. Brown black, opaque. Huge steady beige head. Extra soft and smooth on the palate. Cloudy chocolate tones. A touch oily, but simply a fantastic beer experience. Chocolate milk undertones. Luscious, world class subtlety. Perfect beer, really different experience than the bottle.

Very dark colour, almost black. Taste is of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee, a very nice surprise. (I assume this is the corrcet beer I tried, had it in the Penny Black Northwich 21/2/2013)

Cask at Haymarket. Black with a long lasting tan head. A thick chocolate and roasty beer. I’m a big fan of this.

Bottle 6% called Black Ale. Very black tan head, thin, spotty lacing. Aroma malty sweet chocolate, nuts, bready, mild dark fruit berries.Somewhat mild but complex. Taste is very smooth slick so much it actually lubes your mouth slightly, big chocolate tones, roast, rich, dense, dark chocolate bitter roasty finish, strong espresso notes bitter roast lingers. Not shure if this is under the right name, but its the only 6% there is.

Very tasty and in fact slightly smokey in flavor. A dark stout with good spicy notes and chocolate and malt galore. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask. Black beer with a bubbly shortliving beige head and a light acidic coffee aroma with notes of dried fruit and dusty hops. Taste is sweet, light ashy, medium bitter with hints of licorice, chocolate and plums. Dry, astringent finish, surprisingly light texture. I actually prefer the bottled version...
