Tap. Lovely porter! Huge creamy brown head lasts till end and makes filigrane layered lace. Small roasted aroma. Deep dark black brown. Roasted malts, caramel, herbs. Thick silky, oily palate. Just adoreable.

Cask at Ginger Man. Inky black with large creamy beige head, no specific aroma, low carbonation, creamy mocha taste, full body, smooth medium finish with mellow alcohol aftertaste. Very smooth and delicious.

Excellent porter, coffee, dark chocolate. Gently and at the same time tight enough.

Backlog rating. Cask at FOB, Rimini. Thanks to Rick for this one! It pours a dark brown, almost black color with a small tan head. Aroma is cocoa powder, biscuit and licorice root. Taste is medium sweet and lightly roasted with a nice dry finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Could use more body

Really good black beer. Had this before as Tesco Porter and was nonplussed, bit on cask it’s richer, sweeter and the tart-cherry tang comes through nicely.

September 20, 2014 - on handpull at Craft Beer Co (Islington). Oily black/red pour with minimal beige head. Aroma and flavour of deep roast, tarry rope, dark tart fruit, some alcohol - slick, vaguely oily body, midl carbonation, longish slightly sour finish. Interesting - kind of bitter too when you think back on it.

On cask at Rustico (Ballston). The beer is black with a quarter inch of off-white cap that holds steady for several minutes. The aroma brings milk chocolates, roast, malts, biscuits, brown bread. The flavor is sweet and chocolaty, followed by mild roast and sweet breads. A bit lacking actually. Not bad at all, but the flavor kind of drops off. Thin body and a bit too sweet. Eh...

Cask by hand-pump at Bon Accord, Glasgow - opaque dark brown near black, good tan head, coffee, liquorice aroma, intermittent lacing, some coffee, chocolate and liquorice here, oily feel, prolonged moderate malty aftertaste, very easy to drink for the abv

Cask at Great Lost Bear. Dark black like the name of the brew states. Thick lasting head retention. Aroma of charred chocolate malts, licorice, and a trace of coffee.

The body is medium and shows a creamy texture. The flavor is spot on the flavors and real tasty. Overall really easy to drink with the creaminess being a major turn on for me. I’m really going to have to try the bottled version and compare. This was a nice drink.
