2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in July 2007. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear dark copper red in colour with a thin buff head. Slight hint of ribena fruit in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a digestive biscuit note laced with syrupy dates. Spicy hop resins gives a short bitter aftertaste. Finish is sweet with blackcurrants present in the mouth. A decent session ale. Pity Harviestoun cannot expand on this beer style.
