Sharp citrus flavours, lemon, grapefruit with a strange touch of tannin. Smooth underlying malt and some hop on the finish but largely forgettable. Sigmund (2307), Hafrsfjord, Norway

Golden colour, large to moderate white head. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is initially surprisingly moderate but nice and pleasant, improves as the beer warms up a little (started drinking it too cold), flowery and citrussy hops (Hersbrücker and Challenger), hints of honey too. Flavour is zesty and grapefruity, the hops dominate but there is also a sufficient malty base. Bitter aftertaste of grapefruit peel. A very unusual lager, clearly related to its golden ale cousin, the Bitter & Twisted. Magicdave6 (5560), London, Greater London, England

Bright golden pour with big, long-lasting, rocky off-white head. Wonderfully aromatic: fruity (citrus mainly) especially grapefruit! Great creamy-smooth mouthfeel, almost like a cream ale! really very fresh tasting, right out of the bottle, yet. Front-heavy hop bitterness, both floral and grapefruit (Challenger). I LOVE this beer...great session beer! My one regret: I neglected to save some for my buddy Cornfield...just wasn’t thinking (or expecting something so great!) maeib (4777), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Bottled. A golden/orange coloured beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is lovely hops quite reminiscent of APAs. Lots of tangerine and orange notes. This is replicated in the fruity taste; again citric fruit is abundant. Not as fresh as the cask version obviously, but this does not taste obviously pasteurized. Harviestoun really do know how to make tasty bottled beers. Really drinkable and moreish. Could drink a sessionful of this. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England

Aroma was of sweet honey. Citric sourness in the taste and a medium bitter finish. My opinion of Scottish beers continues to rise.
