3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (1210) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 6, 2012
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in November 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Sweet malty aroma with a tang of marmalade. Thin and resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a strong juicy fruit component with watermelon, kiwi fruit and overipe redcurrants. Dry hop flowers give a bitter resiny aftertaste. Tart redcurrant fruit present in the malty finish. A Golden Ale in appearance but more of an autumnal ale in taste. Reminded me of Kelburns Red Smiddy in flavour. Well recommended.

Thick white foam that lasts till the pint is finnished.
Light golden but a litle opque. Small hop aroma with pears. Big fresh bitterness but a litle too long lasting. Good but not as good as some of their other beers.

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks. Clean gold with a thin white head and lots of lace. Nice and spicy, slightly floral and really well balanced. Good earthy malt base and a really good lengthy bitterness. Straight forward but a very enjoyable drop.
