Cask, Special;
This wildly aromatic and refreshing golden ale has citrus and spicy aromas from the Citra and Simcoe hops, perfectly balancing the underlying background of earthy English hop flavours. Hops used: Challenger, Citra, Simcoe

Fine looking golden ale with a thick creamy head. Plenty of tropical hop flavour and an acute bitterness.

JDW Last Post. At last, hops in a Spoons Fest Ale. Was beginning to despair (apart from Feral IPA) All that need be said of this is that it is as close to Jarl I have tasted from another brewer. Top stuff as anything with Citra & Simcoe usually is. Harviestoun back on form.

Cask handpull, The High Cross (JDW), Leicstaaa, 16/11/12. Deep-pillowed, thick-lacing pale gold. Pissy rabbit fur, lime zest, mild nuttiness on nose. Stewed, rasping grapefruit, lemon zest and Darjeeling hits. Dry hop, grapefruit finish softened with cashew malt. Pintworthy, but a touch too quinine/shampoo bitter even for me.

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Golden with a firm white foam. Aromas are prominent orange and lemon rind with floral herbs and base biscuit. Grapefruit with hints of pineapple and green pine. Some overall woody notes with mellow oranges. Flavours are bittersweet lemon and grapefruit with some tart citrus. Grassy and yeasty with dry biscuit. Pith citrus rind with underlying sweet tropical fruit. Spruce and grapefruit bitterness to finish with a dry aftertaste. I’m pleased this festival beer was still available

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton 08/11/12. A golden beer with a tight white head and lacing. Good sharp piney US hop notes with some citrus and some spict sting in the nose. Piney and sharp hoppiness in the mouth. Great hoppy bitterness. A good hoppy beer where the malts merely add body.

Taste of citrus hops, very hoppy, grapefruit, lemon zest with a good light pale sweet malt background, fruity zest
Palate - thinnish body, texture a little oily. Finish - lingering bitter, mouth puckering citrus zesty hops, good finish
Overall - This was a good beer from Harviestoun with a nice hoppy zest

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol, November 2012. Deep gold with a decent, white head. Aroma of limes, pine and tropical fruits. Flavour had more citrus and pineapple, with some creamy malts and a dry finish. Very good.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Plae amber with a tight cream head; citrus aroma; smooth and creamy in the mouth, with a pronounced sharp grapefruit taste; and a long, dry, and fruity finish. Rather good.
