Cask: Special - JDW Autumn Festival 2010
This new beer has been brewed exclusively for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. It is an extremely well-hopped golden-coloured brew, creating a beer which has an enticing floral aroma which leads to a clean, refreshing character and a lingering, pleasingly dry aftertaste.

Spoons festival! Slightly hazy amber beer with a half decent head. Smooth semi dry palate. Low carbonation. Lots of fresh grapefruit bitterness. Traces of orange and a whisper of peach. Turns a little sweeter before the finish but has a lingering bitter aftertaste. Good effort!

Cask at the Tyburn, JDW, London. Pours clear, amber-gold with a very creamy, off-white head. Bready nose with some pineapple and floral hops. Nice flavor, with caramel and honey sweetness and some more fruity and dirty bitters. Light to medium in body with soft carbonation. Balanced finish, with more bread and butter malts, some honey, and tropical fruits. Light, dry earth in the throat, with light herbs as well. Not very complex, per se, but quite well rounded.

Half, hand pulled cask at Standing Order (JDW). Lasting, thin beige head atop of a near-clear amber body. Floral aroma with lemony hops. Peaches and lime to the fruity taste profile, along with earthy malts. Rounded, long-lived bitter ending. Medium body. Refreshing. (Edinburgh, 29.11.2010).

Cask, Last Plantagenet, Leicester. Amber with an off-white head. Aromas are woody with melon, grapefruit and lychee. Clean with floral notes. Base toffee with hints of lemon. Quite peppery and earthy. Flavours are dry biscuit malts with lots of melon and bittersweet grapefruit. Peppery with dry tea on the finish. Good.

Cask Conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head and copious lacing. A good citrus jelly aroma and taste. Good depth and good hops. Orange and lime notes. Very enjoyable indeed.

The Baron, Hinckley. Honey amber with a solid off white head. Soapy grapefruit aroma. Soapy perfumed taste; stillness, shave of old lemon, grapefruit milkshake, huge lace. Good moussey lemon and lime feel; hops and softness. Tasty and well-hopped, as anything from Harviestoun tends to be.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 5/11/10. Deep gold with a decent white head. Citrus hop aroma with some sweet maltiness. Flavour of orange fruit, with earthy malts and a hoppy, bitter finish. Good.
