On gravity at Swindon Beer Festival, 24/10/2013. Near black with a thin, off-white head. Roasty malts, some dark chocolate and a slight tanginess, before a lingering, dryish finish. Very enjoyable.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Banbury Beer Festival 10/05/13. A black beer with an off-white wisp of head. Lots of coffee and roasted malts in this. Bitter and smoky too. Quite robust and very tasty.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 24 Nov 2012) Black colour with brief, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of dark chocolate, black coffee, liquorice and dark rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and a dry finish with a generous roasty bitterness. Rather light body. Well made and very nice porter.

Gravity Dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12.
Very dark mahogony brown with a very thin tan head that clears to the edge and leaves a thin film.
Nose is roast malt, light toffee, whisp of chocolate.
Taste comprises roast malt, bitter flavours, dark chocolate, touch of coffee, some dark fruits.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish.
Ok and drinkable.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2013 Cask at The White Horse Old Ale Festival, London. Pours rich brown with a fine, tan cream head. Dry cocoa nose. Light sweet flavor, earthy, with cocoa, burnt grass and charred malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry chocoate finish with lingering earthy bitterness. Decent. (3.4)

Cask at the Jenny Lind, All Saints Road, Hastings. A rather good porter. Deep chocolate brown in colour with a loose beige head; rich, milk chocolate aroma; soft and silky in the mouth with a drinking chocolate flavour; that mingles with some dry coffee and purple fruit to finish.

Lovely roast aroma. Toasty. Dark, small head. Super rich body, great maltiness. Smooth palate, carbonation low. Finish roasty, late finish goes all the way to coffee grounds. Super roasty porter, a great beer.
