akevitt (93), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA Nov 10, 2007 Updated: Nov 12, 2007 Not a great beer, but a very nostalgic one! The packaging transports you back to a different era! Kudos to August Schell Brewing Company for bringing this beer back! ...The beer was light gold with a moderate amount of foam. Not a lot happening with the flavor or aroma, this beer is pretty inert. I mainly got some watery grainy malt.
Bandit (5), Blue Earth, Minnesota, USA does not count May 5, 2008 Great old school American beer made with the original recipe. Good sweet and lightly sour flavor. BDR (1862), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Nov 21, 2007 Pale color. Straw gold color with a corn & grain aroma and flavor. A little metallic on the finish. OSLO (606), Minnesota, USA Nov 17, 2007 [Bottle, thanks Akevitt] Pours very pale gold with a small white head. Aroma isn’t offensive, but virtually nothing there. Taste is very sweet with the malt and corn described before melding into something that really did not work for me at all. This was a drain-pour for me and had very little that I found appealing about it. Pretty awful. badgerben (3048), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Nov 12, 2007 An ancient looking bottle produced by Akevitt. Clear yellow color with a medium head. Smells and tastes like sweet corn, very cleanly brewed. Very much like Grain Belt Premium. Honestly, as just a tip-it-back beer, it’s not bad at all. JK (2392), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Nov 10, 2007 An ordinary pale lager, clear gold color. Simple corn/malt flavor. Not offensive in any way and very drinkable.
