500 ml bottle. F. BB 22.02.13. From bierzwerg.de.
Cloudy golden colour with an average to big fluffy white head. Honey, malt and some herbs in a rather sweet aroma. The flavour is more sweetness, honey, mild grass, some herbal notes and malt. Reminds me a little bit of some Baltic microbrewery lagers. Rather enjoyable. Soft carbonation. Far better than most of the big macro lagers (which this isn’t of course).

mile (3235) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 15, 2012
Bottle. Golden, hazy, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate malty - grainy and lightly sweetish aroma, light bread, light grassy - herbal hoppyness. Body is medium, malty - grainy and lightly sweetish flavor, light bread, light herbal hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - grainy and lightly sweetish, some metal, light grassy - herbal hoppyness. OK hoppyness for kellerbier - not too sweet. Bit too much sharp metal in the finish.

TAR (2518) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - OCT 9, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2012 Bottle (best by 5/11/12) at Cafe Abseits, Bamberg in Nov, 2011: Medium amber with a golden sheen. Very clean aromas of black tea and licorice along with accents of toasty baguette and biscuit. Soft carbonation, firm body. Sassy hop spice immediately merges with feathery but deep-rooted and vividly-defined toasted bread. Well-pronounced Munich-derived melanoidin signature is firmly anchored amongst the delicate maltiness. Assertive and polished hop flavor. Spicy aniseed is kissed with a light floral softness along with a rounded juicy ester character. Minerals grip the palate and the beautifully textured malt continually offers its soft caress. Finishes with ongoing malt delicacy of fresh bread and toasty Munich. Upon first glance this might come across as overly straightforward, but further inspection shows that its a juicy, mineralic, rustic and well-balanced lager that’s supremely quaffable. Very solid.
