Thanks bierkoning! Dark copper color, huge beige head. Dark malty, toasted aroma with hints of soya sauce and caramel. Light bodied. Some caramel, toasted malts, some late bitterness. Soft and dry. Very typical schwarzbier.

Koelschtrinker (10831) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 21, 2011
Herb-malziger Antrunk, sehr mild. 7/6/6/7/7/6

Steinkrug @ Windfelder Stegaurach. Roast and a bit of beechwood in both aroma and flavor. Ash. Totally dry, yet with some malt character. Loads of character in this excellent beer.

Grima (2101) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - MAR 11, 2011
The beer in the glass is very dark brown, fine with good cream head. Very roasting coffee and toffee-like aroma, some caramel is also there. The beginning part is caramelly, with lots of toffee and a good bitter coffee aroma! The aftertaste coffee roasting, subtly bitter, again with plenty of toffee! In the further course rules the toffee flavor, coupled with decent coffee and a caramel note, which loses something of bitterness.

Maria (10169) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUL 26, 2010
It’s dark, red-brown with a creamy head, and the aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, licorice and syrup. The flavour is light to moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, syrup, caramel and licorice – a really nice schwarzbier.

Medium, lightly beige head over foxy-amber beer with golden highlights. Bready, nutty malts nose, very lightly roasted; discreet. Fresh, leafy-greenery tatste with parsly, and again (hazel)nutty notes. Bitterish aftertaste, roasted-hoppy; light body with some slickness. Bitterness grows in time. Nice dark lager. Not really a Schwarzbier in my experience. Txs, Sebastian!

Bottle, Marktstubn, Bamberg
Dark brown with a thick head. Toasty character is assertive with nice chocolate notes and a fairly nutty flourish in the dry finish. Some toffeeish notes add complexity. Toffee notes emerge as it warms. Nice brew.
