The head is medium and the body blond and cloudy. It smells yeasty, a bit malty, tannins. The taste is refreshing, a bit yeasty, malty, different-fruity. Would be a perfect beer for hot temperatures. 11/12/11/12/-/12

Have whiled away many a happy hour in the Feierling bier garden in Freiburg. This possibly influences my rating, however, this beer really hits the mark for me in terms of its maltiness with a touch of sweetness. Incredibly refreshing, great beer.

2 l bottle from brewery. Hazy orange golden color with huge white head. Aroma of malt, some bitter hops, earthy notes. Taste, sweet malt, toffee, light bitterness in sweet finish. Good session beer.

Bisher mein bestes Bier in Freiburg :-)

Ottima birra leggera, bevuta appena spillata nella birreriadi Friburgo. Fruttata e dissetante ha colore ambrato e lievemente torbido.

This is a light and very unassuming summer pilsener in the sweet&malty Baden-Württemberg tradition of turning all Pilseners into sweet Helles. Sweet overtones on an altogether varied arome of fresh hops and come light, shy citrus notes. Nice light, not too watery or grainy mouthfeel. Only beer on tap in the Biergarten practically in front of my door. I suppose former reviewers’ rating were positively influenced by the friendly atmosphere in their Biergarten, as this is by no means an exceptional brew, just very drinkable - and would even cater to family members being dragged along who do not usually like beer.

Orange gold and hazy with a medium creamy head. Grainy with a little sweetness, medium bitterness. Tastes a little fruity, grassy, like herbs, nuts. Average carbonization and full body. Really nice to drink.

My Bottom Line :
Soft and round, this unfiltered blond lager presents plenty of wet cereal flavors surrounded by citrusy aromatics for a most personable pint.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy blond.
-This is effortlessly drinkable, perhaps because of the velvety sweetness and natural carbonation which are quite similar, for example, to what some Czech brewpubs do.
-This is noticeably sweeter than the average German Pilsener, but it works so well I can’t find a reason to complain.
-The citrusy hop character is emboldened by the delicate yeast presence.

On tap at their biergarten.

Draught at the brauhaus
Cloudy deep blond color; compact head. Mild but nice malt aroma. Quite sweet mouthfeel, with strong flavor of straws and cereals, some malt too; correct bitterness. Simple but pleasant.

Draught @ Hausbrauerei Feierling, Gerberau 46, Freiburg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany 79098.

Unclear hazy medium grey orange yellow color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, grain, straw, malty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration, toasted, citrus notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100929]
