Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Clear hotel half-pint glass From: Whole Foods Market in Honolulu, Hawaii Price: $2.69 Purchased: Dec. 20, 2015 Consumed: Dec. 21, 2015 Misc.: Born on Sept. 3, 2015 Poured a brownish, mahogany murky color with 2-to-3 fingers of light, khaki tan, frothy head. Very good, foamy, layered lacing on the sides of the glass. Good retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled boozy alcohol, toasty bread, roasted toffee, nuts, earthy rye, unsweetened iced tea, light caramel and faint herbal hops. (Smell - 3.50) Tasted better than the nose, getting rye, unsweetened iced tea, roasty malts, herbal hops, nuts, faint dark caramel, dark wheat bread, some menthol and light Citra zest. (Taste - 3.75) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.75) This beer was decent, especially after getting past the smell. Very good for the style. Can shared that poured an unfiltered brown color with big tan head. There is a mild sourness in the nose donít know if itís suppose to be there or not. An almost tea scent and hay. The flavor was wretched tinny/coiny caramel sweet and sour disgusting. Could be a bad can but donít think so.

12 oz can. From a grocery store in Honolulu, HI.
Dark brown color with a small tan head. Sweet caramel and darkish malt in aroma but also a hint of sourness lurking there. The flavor is sweet dark malt, mild sourness and mild hops. Boring. Brown ale as itís... not best.

Can: Cloudy brown with a frothy, light tan head. Caramel...slightly bitter-nutty scent. Taste is caramel malt, woody bitter.....definitely some metal notes in there.... Ok, but a bit thin.

Can. Lactic, light metallic caramel malt and hay aroma. Medium brown with large tan head. Sweet caramel malt and light bitter hay flavor. Light metallic finish. Metallic flavor much more apparent if drinking straight from the can.

Small to average light brown head; beer brown in color. Aromas primarily malt, with molasses, caramel and nutty aromas. Hop aromas very light. Medium body; medium sweetness; moderate bitterness; average length finish. Overall a mild, fairly simple brown ale. Pretty much all malt with very little hop presence.

Can. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, cookie, nuts), with notes of sour apple, bile, rotting/fermenting/souring fruit, toffee. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, very unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Infected to hell and back. Utterly undrinkable.
